About Shin's Byte
A personalized English reading service for Korean learners.
What it does
Every morning, Shin's Byte sends each reader three short English articles on the topics they picked. The articles are based on real sources, such as news stories and research papers, and are rewritten at the reader's level, from CEFR A1 to C2.
Clicking a word or a sentence opens a Korean explanation. Comprehension checks and spaced-repetition review track what the reader understands, and the level of the next articles adjusts automatically.
How it uses AI
AI finds the sources, writes each article at the reader's level, translates it into Korean, and writes the comprehension questions.
Who runs it
Shin's Byte is built and operated by JoongHyuk Shin, an independent developer based in Seoul, South Korea. Development began in May 2026, and the beta opened to its first readers the same month. The service is free during the beta.
